Talking Office Chairs
There’s a lot to say about office chairs but the real question is, what does your chair says about you? With the unique ABChairs from designer Roeland Otten, your chairs can quite literally say whatever you’d like them to. Otten has designed a set of 26 chairs shaped like each letter of the Alphabet. The chairs are made from lacquered MDF, and are available upon request, in limited edition.
In this picture picture, a boy is lounging on one the O of the word HOME. The four chairs are sprawled across a green lawn, against the backdrop of a New York apartment building. The image is enough to get your creative juices rolling. The possibilities are endless. Spell out your company name in the lobby, or outside your office building for passersby to see. How about the word the word ‘books’ or ‘lounge’ or ‘study’ in a library, or the name of a city in that city’s park? Or, order all 26 letters and rearrange them as you see fit. You can even invite the neighborhood kids for a giant spelling bee. Just make sure not to ask them how to spell ‘book’ or ‘welcome’ or any other word with a double letter.
Otten hopes to continue with this line and expand it. His goal is to manufacture them in plastic so they can be used more flexibly. He’s also said that he would like to see them made in a smaller size, for children.
If you’re looking for a way for your business make a statement, let your office furniture do the talking.
